HOW I STARTED
The first time I tried yoga was while being in Asia in 2014, attending a few classes in different islands. Back then, never I would have thought that I would a few years later embark on this spiritual journey myself.
6 years later when Covid happened, I was in Australia and felt the heaviness and worries of people going through the pandemic and to escape it, I started practising Yoga at home, taking my time, just me and the mat.
I quickly realised the benefits of it. I was calmer, more focused, and less worried about the unknown – I learnt to ‘let go’ of things I couldn’t control and be more present in the moment. The more I practised Yoga, the more I felt at ease both physically and mentally and thought: “what if I could teach people yoga, so they can also feel the way I am feeling?”. During this time, I was working full-time in the Event and Marketing Industry, I remember bringing home the stress, sometimes feeling like I had no time for myself, felt like I was consistently running.
In November 2021, I decided to hit the ‘STOP’ button and quit my full-time job to enrol my 200YTT online. I wanted to share with people the feeling Yoga was giving me. I started giving my first classes in my local gym while learning at the same time. I kept going to yoga classes as well while throwing myself into teaching them and I never looked back.
